”This is a song for a Papago puberty
rite. It makes more sense when one
learns that Creator comes from “under the sunset” in their mythology. The word “songs” refers to all the myth and
ethos stories, because in oral traditions these stories are easier to remember
when they are chanted. A “poor man” is a
revered elder.
