the People

”When Columbus got off the boat he asked us who we were. We said we’re the human beings, we’re the people. Conceptually the Europeans didn’t understand that, it was beyond their conceptual reality. They didn’t see us. They couldn’t see who we were. Historically speaking, we went from being Indians to pagans to savages to hostiles to militants to activists to Native Americans.
Now its five hundred years later & they still can’t see us. We are still invisible. They don’t see us as human beings, (their answers are always interrupting and fragmented, individualized denials) but we’ve been saying to them all along that’s what we are [that’s who we are], We are invisible to them because we are still the human beings. We’re still the People, but they never call us that. They taught us to call ourselves Indians. Now they’re teaching us how to call ourselves Native Americans. Its not who we are. We’re the People. They can’t see us as human beings. But they can’t see themselves as human beings. The invisibility is at every level, its not just that we’re tucked away out of sight. We’re the evidence of the crime. They can’t deal with the reality of who we are because then they have to deal with what they have done. If they deal with the reality of who we are, they have to deal with the reality of who they aren’t. So they have to fear us, not recognize us, not like us. The very fact of calling us ‘Indians’ creates a new identity for us, an identity that began with their arrival. Changing identity, creating a new perceptual reality, is another form of genocide. It’s like severing a spiritual umbilical cord that reaches into the ancestral past. The history of the Indians begins with the arrival of the Europeans. The history of the People begins with the beginning of the history of the People. The history of the People is one of cooperation, collectivity, and living in balance. The history of the Indians is one of genocide, rather that a history of peace and balance. The history of the People under attack, the Indians, in an evolutionary context is not very long; it’s only five hundred years. The objective of civilizing us is to make Indian history become our permanent reality. The necessary objective of Native people is to outlast this attack, however long it takes, to keep our identity alive.”

“All living creatures are sparks from the radiation of God's brilliance,
emerging from God like the rays of the sun.“

Leibniz v. Newton

I have demonstrated that space is nothing other than an order of the existence of things observed in their simultaneity. And therefore the fiction of a material finite universe, moving forward in a infinite empty space, cannot be admitted.

ancestors

To be born we need:
2 Parents
4 Grandparents
8 Great Grandparents
16 Great Grandparents
32 Trastatar Grandparents
64 Pent Grandparents
128 Hex Grandparents
256 Heptabuelos
512 Octabuelos
1024 Anne Grandparents
2048 Decparents
Just the total of the last 11 generations, 4.094 ANCESTRALS were necessary, all of this in about 300 years before you or me were born!
Stop for a moment and think...
Where did they come from?
How many struggles have you fought?
How much hunger did they go through?
How many wars have they ever lived?
How many vicissitudes did our ancestors survive?
On the other hand, how much love, strength, joys and encouragement did we bequeathed?
How much of their strength to survive, each of them had and left within us so that today we are alive.
We only exist thanks to everything that each of them has gone through.
It is our duty to honor our ancestors!

Eagles

By the age of 40, the eagle's claws become too long and supple, and it cannot grab its prey with it. Its beak becomes too long and curved, preventing it from eating. The feathers on its wings and chest become too thick and heavy and prevent it from flying. The eagle is now faced with a choice: either death, or a long and painful period of change, lasting 150 days...

It flies to its nest on the top of the mountain and beats its beak against the rock for a long time until the beak breaks and comes off... Then it waits for a new beak to grow and tear its claws out.

When new claws grow, the eagle pulls out its over-heavy plumage on its chest and wings... And then, after 5 months of pain and torment, with a new beak, claws and plumage, the eagle is reborn and can live for another 30 years...

Very often, in order to live, we have to change, sometimes this process is accompanied by pain, fear, doubts...

We get rid of memories, habits and traditions from the past... Only freeing ourselves from the burden of the past allows us to live and enjoy the present and prepare ourselves for the future...
No matter what stage of life you are at, I wish you courage and strength to constantly change.

Rumi

Anger as clarity

“Anger gives rise to the illusion of clarity.
A certain strength arises when we have an opinion
and we know where we stand.
The difference between the clarity we believe we have
when angry and the clarity that results
from actually seeing clearly
is that aggression has its own narrow logic,
which does not take into account the deeper level
of causes and conditions
that surround each situation.”

Elders

"Peace... comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the Universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us." --Black Elk (Hehaka Sapa), Oglala Lakota ~
Ella Cloud Horse, Little Warrior, Nickolaus Black Elk ~ Manderson SD. 1950

"Since Universe is Energy, part of the process of understanding,
at least as  I experience it, is to learn to ‘see’ flows of energy and specificities of energy.  Both are necessary.  Because, you see, Universe is both Whole and Specific.  Western science is beginning to understand this through explorations about particle and wave.  Both particle/ particularity/specificity of Universe and the wave/flow of Universe were aspects I was encouraged as a child to apprehend and understand.  I was asked to ‘see’ the ‘dancing points of light’ and then to apprehend the shift from location to flow.  Much of shamanic practice has to do with developing the ability to enter and use this shift.

...The Western tradition represents body because it's always looking at things out here at arm's length.  It's using microscopes, it's using all kinds of tools to look at things, to take them apart.  That's changing, but this has been the understanding.  The Eastern approach uses Spirit - you meditate, you breathe, you apprehend the nature of the Universe through your Spirit.  I think the Native American tradition, at least the one that I understand and grew up in represents Mind.  Because, as I say, you let your thoughts preceed you.  You let your thoughts flow into that circumstance to understand it."
